Tipnique of the week, August 9, 2013

Greetings from Houston, where my son Robert and his excellent fiance Miranda have taught me this week's tip:

If you rarely use more than a handful of green onion bits at a time, bring them home from the shop and pop them in a glass of water or a small pot of soil on a sunny windowsill. The onions will keep growing, so you can scissor off a few green slices whenever you need them.
